Synology Setup Guide
Get Pixette running on your Synology DiskStation in 7 easy steps.
Install WebDAV Server
Open Package Center on your Synology NAS, search for 'WebDAV Server', and install it.
Enable HTTPS
Open the WebDAV Server package, enable HTTPS and set the port to 5006.
Create a dedicated user
Go to Control Panel → User & Group. Create a new user (e.g., 'pixette') with a strong password.
Set folder permissions
Give the new user Read-only access to the shared folders that contain your photos and videos.
Configure Pixette
Open Pixette on your device and enter the connection details: URL (https://YOUR_NAS_IP:5006), username, and password. All values are case-sensitive.
Browse and select folders
Tap 'Connect and browse folders', then select the folder containing your photos.
Index your files
Tap 'Index Now' to catalog all your photos and videos. This may take a few minutes depending on your collection size.
Connection Details
https://YOUR_NAS_IP:5006 pixette your_password
You can also use your NAS hostname (e.g., https://mynas.local:5006).
All values are case-sensitive.
Troubleshooting
Can't connect?
Check that your device isn't blocked in Control Panel → Security → Account → Auto Block. Also verify the WebDAV Server logs for detailed error messages.
Connection timeout?
Ensure your device is on the same local network as your NAS. Try using the IP address instead of the hostname.
